About us

ALPHADEV is a Senegalese organization created in 2003 with the aim of working for the socio-economic promotion of women, children and youth from disadvantaged backgrounds for a just and equitable society through participatory and sustainable development.

For ALPHADEV, literacy is not an end in itself, but a lever essential for social emancipationof citizens. ALPHADEV's concept of literacy goes beyond access to written codes. It aims at sustainable development at the grassroots level so that communities are able to take charge of their own development, thus promoting the emergence of a more just and prosperous society.

This is why its intervention strategy is essentially based on the use of the Reflect approach, which is a participatory approach to learning in relation to social change and local development.

ALPHADEV works with an important network of local organizations and develops various community initiatives to improve the living conditions of the poor.
